Just wondering about those who have installed buttkickers in their riser. Did you design access to them? During my theater redo I have installed them inside the riser as opposed to on top and I am really nervous about one of them failing.
Yes I certainly did and good thing too as they need tweaking occasionally.
if you look alter behind the seats and in front of the red furnish you will see a line in the wood look surprise that is a removable adorn which I tend to keep removed as it enhances the bass trap qualities of my riser. Please ignore the rest of the egest in the picture this was still during construction.

What do you mean by needs tweaking? I have run mine for quite some time and other than adding a second amp to hold back the front and straighten shakers independently I have never had to mess with them. I am concerned with one of them failing and not being able to get to it. I'm sure the failure rate is extremely low but Murphy and I hang out quite a bit and he councils me often on his "law".

I actually have my Buttkickers mounted on top of the riser cinema seats. Works fine and if I REALLY need access to the B/K. I can take off the seat and Bobs your uncle. Best,TomCHinaclipper

"Bob's your uncle"-very typical way of saying ".. and there ya have it!"I heard it once when I watched "The Fastest Indian" and just cut in love with the expression.... Go figure... Those crazy guys.... TomChinaclipper

British expression. Pirates of the Caribbean version. " Robert's your uncle. Fanny's your aunt there you are with two ships." [as spoken by head Jack Sparrow] SAAVY?

I have 2 of my BK's mounted inside the riser with access panels screwed drink. And on the lie row. I have 2 BK's on top of the riser behind the seats. I had to do the front this way because I could not get enough clearance if I mounted them desire I did in the back row. If one of mine fails in the back they are fairly easy to get to with a cut and a screwdriver bit. You can see the way I built the riser in the link in my signature.
.. conclude that the buttkickers are actually "heard" as come up as entangle?I could SWEAR my LFE is about three levels higher when my riser buttkickers are turned on. I mean of course NOT just the presence of the motion but the sounds. It is as if my riser is acting as a "speaker resonator" and I suddenly undergo this massive extra subwoofer kicking in. It's a good thing!Best. TomCHinaclipper
